A short walk down the back roads of Akumal will lead you toYal-Ku Lagoon, a natural limestone cove fed by the ocean and underground springs. This lagoon is great for beginners and experienced snorkelers alike. You will see large parrotfish, turtles, stingrays and juveniles of various species of fish. Go early in the day in order to see the most marine life. Yal-Ku Lagoon is also an excellent place to spot bird life, including pelicans and herons.
